Al Madeena Cherpulassery emerged victorious at the Wandoor All India Sevens, winning the title by beating FIFA Manjeri in the final. The match, known as the El Clasico of Sevens, drew the largest crowd of the Sevens season thus far.
Despite both teams putting up a strong fight, the game ended in a scoreless draw. FIFA Manjeri’s Eric came close to scoring with a free kick, but Al Madeena’s keeper made a brilliant save to keep the game goalless.
With the game still tied after the penalty shootout, the title was ultimately decided by the luck of the toss, which favored Al Madeena. This marks their second title of the season, following their victory against FIFA Manjeri at the Nilambur All India Sevens.
In the semi-final, Al Madeena defeated Base Perumbavoor. FIFA, who had also lost the final in Kalpakanchery the day before, suffered back-to-back losses in consecutive days.
