After nearly two weeks of thrilling football, FC Goa and Jamshedpur FC will meet in the Kalinga Super Cup 2025 final on Saturday, May 3, in Bhubaneswar. The winner not only takes home the trophy but also secures a coveted spot in the AFC Champions League Two Preliminary Round for the 2025-26 season.
While FC Goa look to become the first two-time champions of the tournament and return to continental competition after four years, Jamshedpur FC are chasing their first-ever major trophy and a maiden entry into Asian football.
Goa, guided by Manolo Márquez, reached the final with wins over Gokulam Kerala, Punjab FC, and Mohun Bagan SG. Jamshedpur, led by Khalid Jamil, impressed with a watertight defence, keeping clean sheets against Hyderabad, NorthEast United, and Mumbai City.
Jamil acknowledged the high stakes, saying, “It would be the first time we qualify for an Asian competition, so we’ll give our best.” Márquez echoed the sentiment: “You have to be motivated when you get this kind of opportunity.”
The two sides have a competitive history in the Super Cup with goal-filled encounters, and though Jamshedpur did the double over Goa in the ISL this season, both coaches agree that the final is a different game altogether.
The final, kicking off at 19:30 IST, will be broadcast on Star Sports 3 and JioHotstar. If the match ends level after 90 minutes, extra time and possibly penalties will decide who gets the golden ticket to Asia.
