World number One Djokovic gets the better of Edmund in four sets, Zverev, Tsitsipas, Goffin all advances to third round

Novak Djokovic reaches yet another US Open third round after beating British player Kyle Edmund in 4 sets. It’s his 25th victory in 2020, so far the Serbian is yet to lose a match this year. But it’s wasn’t an easy match for world number one, the unseeded Brit did put on a really good fight in the match. He took the first in the tiebreaker, yes finally Novak lose his winning streak in tiebreakers. But the Serbian back to his usual self from the second set onwards. He broke Edmund for the first time in the second set and won the set 6-3. Then on it was all world number one, he won third set similar fashion 6-4. Then he won the fourth set 6-2 and put the match to the rest. The world number who is looking to win his 18th grand slam title is looking really good, in this form Novak can go all the way for sure.

Meanwhile, the young guns also advance to the third round of the tournament. Greek star and 4th seed Stefanos Tsitsipas beat unseeded American Maxime Cressy in straight sets. The young Greek was real good form the start of the match, he needed a tiebreaker to win the first set.

Then he finds the break in the second and third sets and wins the sets 6-3, 6-4 respectively. 5th seed german Alexander Zverev also advanced to the third round. Recently debutant American youngster Brandon Nakashima impressed against Zverev. The youngster able to win the second set in a tiebreaker but Zverev won the match in four sets. Score : 7-5, 6-7, 6-3, 6-1.

7th seed Belgian David Goffin also wins his second-round match similar fashion. He beat the unseeded South African Lloyd Harris after losing the first set to a tiebreaker. Score : 6-7, 6-4, 6-1, 6-4.
