NorthEast United wins seven goal thriler, Hatrick for Bartholomew Ogbeche

It was raining goals at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Chennai, but the hosts had to suffer a defeat in a game which saw 7 goals. Chennaiyin FC went down to NorthEast United FC in front of 14293 fans who came to watch this thrilling game. In the first half both the teams scored thrice but the 54th Minute goal by Rowlin Borges sealed the game for NEUFC.

It was Chennaiyin FC which went ahead in the game, thanks to an Own Goal by Rowlin Borges. Thoi Singh doubled the lead in 15th minute. For NEUFC Ogbeche scored his first goal in the 29th minute only to see Thoi Singh increase the lead for Chennaiyin again.

Two goals within the space of 2 minutes by Bartholomew Ogbeche saw NorthEast United equal Chennaiyin FC and the teams went back to the locker with scores tied 3-3.

Into the second half, which was little dull when compared to the first half, Rowlin Borges scored and took NorthEast United FC to the front for the first time in the game. Chennai had their chances to get level but NorthEast United defense was up to the task.

Even after having a two-goal advantage twice in the game, Chennaiyin failed to grab a single point. With this defeat, Chennaiyin sits at the bottom of the points table while NorthEast United FC jumped to the top of the points table.
