Kerala Blasters FC is happy to announce three year contract extension with Ishfaq Ahmed as the Assistant Coach of the club.
The footballer from Srinagar, an experienced professional, having played for some of the biggest I-League and Indian Super League football clubs, joined Kerala Blasters as a central midfielder in 2014. He continued as a player-assistant coach in the following years. Ishfaq, who was a part of the team that were two time finalists in the ISL, has also represented India on multiple occasions, including the Pre-Olympic and World Cup qualifying rounds. The versatile Kashmiri footballer, who completed his B-Level AFC coaching certificate course, re-joined the club during ISL Season 6 (2019-20).
“I want to thank the management for giving me the opportunity to serve this amazing club both as a player and a coach. The journey has been exciting thus far and I am eagerly looking forward to working with the new coach for the upcoming season. Together, we hope to implement the goals of the club and take it to greater heights” says Ishfaq.
