South Africa women made a comeback to the T20 series with a comprehensive eight wickets win in the fourth match after losing the first two matches and the third one abandoned due to the soggy outfield. South Africa won the toss and opted to bowl first restricted WI to 135/3 in 20 overs. McLean top-scored with a brilliant 57 of 61 balls. South Africa chased down the target in 18.2 overs with two openers scoring half centuries.
West Indies lost their first wicket with a score of 22 on board in 3.4 overs. Captain Stafanie Taylor joined by McLean to carry the momentum as they added 73 runs for the second wicket. Taylor departed after scoring 26 off 31 balls. Dottin joined McLean and added 40 runs in the last four overs moving the scoreboard quickly in the final stage of the game. Dottin added a quick 28 off 15 balls before getting run out by Klass. TS Sekhukhune picked up two wickets for 27 runs in her four over. Marizanne Kapp produced an excellent spell of 4-0-13-0 but was unlucky to finish wicketless.
South Africa started the chase well with the openers Lizelle Lee and Laura Wolvaardt added 89 runs in the opening partnership in 12 overs. Lee was the first one to depart after scoring 54 off 38 balls with three sixes in her innings. Wolvaardt and Luus added another 45 runs taking South Africa taking two runs away from the target before Luus getting out for 19.
The two teams will meet again at Trinidad for the fifth and final T20. West Indies with two wins from first two games will be looking to win the series with a clinical finish in the final game. South Africa need to win to level the series on 7th October at Brian Lara stadium.
