Kohli rested for final two ODIs and T20I series

BCCI today announced that Virat Kohli will be rested from the final two ODIs and T20I series against New Zealand as part of his workload management. Kohli was rested from Nidahas Trophy in Srilanka in March, one-off Test against Afghanistan in June at Banglore, the Asia cup in UAE during the September and the home T20Is in November against Windies.

“Considering his workload in the last few months, the team management and Senior selection committee is of the view that it would be ideal for him to get adequate rest ahead of the home series against Australia,” BCCI specified in a media statement.

No replacement will be named for Kohli and Rohit Sharma will lead the side in the final two ODIs to take place in Hamilton and Wellington and the three matches T20I series that starts from February 6.
