German-Russian pair Laura Siegemund and Vera Zvonareva become the US Open women’s doubles champions after beating third-seeded German, American pair Xu Yifan and Nicole Melichar. It was a straight-set victory from the Laura Siegemund and Vera Zvonareva.
Laura and Vera win the match with the scoreline of 6-4, 6-4. They were broken once in the whole match but were able to break the opponents three times. It was an even match in many senses but the higher first-serve percentage and higher win percentage on the first serve really helped the German-Russian pair.
