Ramhlun North FC made amends for their first-round defeat with a 3-0 win against Chawnpui FC in the afternoon fixture of Friday’s MPL action. A fast start saw goals from skipper Jessy Vanlalmuana on the fourth minute followed shortly by Kaleba Lalnunhlima eight minutes later give Ramhlun North FC a commanding position into the match.
Chawnpui FC had thought they had an equalizer in between only for Lalhmachhuana’s effort to be ruled offside. An even match up ensued as Chawnpui FC tried in vain to turn their possession into chances before halftime.
A brief delay due to fog in the second half gifted some breathing space for Ramhlun North FC and they were able to close the game out late on when Lalthankhuma nodded in a late corner.
Ramhlun North FC will now face FC Venghnuai on the evening of October 4 while Chawnpui FC will come up against Electric Veng FC on October 3.
