FC Venghnuai hold Chhinga Veng to a draw

Chhinga Veng FC and FC Venghnuai could not come away with their first league win of the season as they cancelled each other out in a 1-1 draw in the final fixture of round 2. Both teams were able to create openings, albeit in different fashion in the first half as the livewire C. Lalchungnunga played creator-in-chief for Chhinga Veng FC’s forward line. Newly signed Ivorian forward Outtara Sie nearly grabbed a debut goal against RS. Lallawmzuala.

Venghnuaia came close at the other with former CVFC forward Laldampuia testing goalkeeper Ruatpuia. They were able to break the deadlock against the run of play right before halftime when Lalruatfela pounced on a rebound inside the box to give Venghnuai a timely lead.

Chhinga Veng FC were able to find a swift reply soon after the restart when Vanlalchhuanga’s delivery was duly finished by Ouattara Sie. The former champions looked more like the side to take the lead only to be denied by their inability to see through half chances.

The counter-attack of Venghnuaia almost came through late on but Vanlalthanga was again denied by Ruatpuia minutes before the final whistle.

Chhinga Veng FC will now face Chanmari FC on October 3, 4:00 PM while FC Venghnuaia and Ramhlun North FC will face each other the next evening.
