Gautam Gambhir stepped down as the skipper of Delhi Ranji team with a week only left for their opening encounter against Himachal Pradesh in the 2018-19 season. Gambhir who lead the team to the Vijay Hazare finals tweeted his decision told he wants the younger generation to take over.
Time to pass the captaincy baton to youngsters, hence have requested the DDCA selectors not to consider me for that role. I will be in the background helping the new leader to win games @RajatSharmaLive
