India bounced back with a tremendous win the fourth ODI to take the series lead in the ODI series against India. They now move to Thiruvananthapuram for the final ODI to claim the series with another win. The last time they played in Thiruvananthapuram was against New Zealand in a T20 game which India won by six runs.
Rohit Sharma and Ambati Rayudu made the most the of the batting conditions in the fourth ODI to help India post a huge total on board. Indian bowlers did a phenomenal job to restrict Windies to a total of 153 to give the team a 224 runs win.
Windies had one poor game in the ODI series, however, will be expected to display a better show in Thiruvananthapuram. They need a win to level the series and what can be better than that result in the subcontinent for a visiting team.
For India, Captain Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been in good form in the series. Rayudu joined with them a century in the last match. The supporters and the team management may expect Dhawan and MS Dhoni to join them with some big score. MS Dhoni is going through a rough patch with the bat and his last competitive match until January 2019, the tour to Australia. Bowlers displayed their best performance in the previous game after a couple average games initially in the series. The performance of the all-rounders will be once again closely monitored as India’s focus more on to bring balance in the team.
West Indies will once again depend on Shai Hope and Hetmyer to do the bulk of the scoring for them. Their openers didn’t get going so far in the tournament and will be one last chance for them to showcase the skills. Marlon Samuels has been another disappointment in the series with the bat, however, he has done well in the third game with the ball to provide a vital breakthrough for Windies with Kohli’s wicket.
The teams have arrived in Trivandrum and it’s going to be an exciting game. Let’s wait to see if India claims the series or Windies will be able to level 2-2.
