Samira Asghari elected to IOC

Samira Asghari, former Afghan basketball player has been elected as a new member of IOC. The 224-year-old is the youngest member to be elected as a representative from Asian Zone. Samira was nominated along with 8 other members last july and after a voting, she among with 4 others were elected to the IOC.

The selection is a part of the IOC policy of giving more representation to women in IOC.
