Ernakulam District Tennis Association launched a Live Ranking System for the Tennis Players of the Ernakulam District, in all groups. It is for the first time ever, a district in Kerala is having such a system, wherein players get to play many matches and get to know where they stand in the district tennis talent pool, in turn getting the valuable match experience for bigger tournaments.
The tag line for the tournament is “Life Skills thru Tennis” emphasis that the Game of Tennis also develops the Lifeskills to make all better human beings which will in turn better society at large. Ranking points are awarded to players playing in ERT2022 (Ernakulam Ranking Tournament), an innovative program organized by EDTA, Launched on 01st January 2022, wherein all players in every category (Under 12, Under 14, Under 16 (Boys & Girls), Men’s & Women’s) play against each other in the group.
It is free to register in ERT2022 for all players of the District and is played in all Tennis courts of the Ernakulam District, throughout the year 2022. More than 650 matches will be played in this program. The ERT2022 points will be updated in the Ranking list, on a weekly basis at EDTA webpage edtatennis.in and updated on our insta and Facebook pages @edtatennis
Kerala Tennis Association (KTA) president Sri. Salim Abdulrahim launched the Program online on 14th January 2022 along with Sri. Thomas Paul, KTA Secretary, and Sri. Balachandran, a leading national Tennis Coach and an Advisor to EDTA. Sri. Martin George Poothokaran, President EDTA and Sri. Rahul Thomas Joseph was present at the online Launch Event.
