UST global wins Raviz Prathidwani 7s Championship 2019 organized by Prathidhwani, socio cultural organization of the IT employees in association with Raviz hotels and resorts. In the grand finale played yesterday, UST defeated Infosys. Match ended in a goalless after the full time and the extra time. Winners were decided in the penalty shootout. Oracle emerged as the champions in the Raviz Prathidhwani women’s fives tournament defeating Infosys in the finals.
Honourable minister for Fisheries, Harbour Engineering and Cashew Industries – Smt: Mercikutty Amma inaugurated the event. Famous football commentator Sri: Shaiju Damodaran was the chief guest. Raviz General Manager Sri Dileep Kumar, DFA secretary Joseph.S, Treasurer V. John also attended the event. Tournament convenor Sri: Hagin Haridas delivered the welcome speech and Sri: Ajin Thomas delivered the vote of thanks.
Minister acknowledged Prathidhwani’s efforts of giving importance to the health and mental aspects of Techies. Famous football commentator Sri: Shaiju Damodaran gave live commentary for the final match which was a different experience.
Women’s penalty shoot out championship was also conducted as part of the tournament and Infosys emerged as the champions defeating Oracle in the finals. Trophies for the player of the tournament (Balu Thampi memorial trophy) was won by Shyju from UST (Men’s) and Deepthi from Oracle (Women’s). Ananthu from UST (Men’s) and Belphy Baby from Infosys (Women’s) won the best goalkeeper awards. Raviz gave away couple dinner vouchers for all award winners and also UST who were crowned the champions would be enjoying a day out at Raviz property. Apart from this, winners also got gift vouchers from Hive, My Homely Cakes, Vogue and Sanchi Bags.
78 teams from 70 different companies participated in the men’s sevens tournament while there were 18 teams who participated in the women’s fives tournament. Apart from this, there were 20 women’s team who participated in the penalty shootout competition. Around 1500 folks were part of this event which is undoubtedly the biggest sporting event in the IT sector.
Infosys were crowned the champions for the last 4 seasons while UST were the runner up.
