Malappuram FC has signed Tajikistan forward Kamron Tursunov, giving a fresh boost to their attack ahead of the new season of the Super League Kerala. Known for his pace, sharp finishing, and set-piece expertise, Tursunov is expected to make a big impact for the team. With his extensive experience in Indian football, he brings both quality and confidence to Malappuram’s frontline.

Tursunov first came to India in 2019 and immediately made headlines by winning the I-League title with Mohun Bagan in his debut season. He went on to play for several clubs including TRAU FC, Rajasthan United, Churchill Brothers, and Gokulam Kerala, where he consistently impressed with his goal-scoring ability. In the 2023-24 season with Gokulam Kerala, he scored 6 goals and provided 2 assists. One of his most remarkable achievements came in 2021 when, playing for TRAU FC, he scored the fastest goal in I-League history – just nine seconds into the match against Real Kashmir.

Before coming to India, Tursunov played for multiple clubs in Tajikistan such as FC Regar-TadAZ, FC Istiklol, FK Khujand, and Ravshan Kulob. He also had a stint in Indonesia with Dejan FC. By bringing him in, Malappuram FC appears determined to field a strong and competitive squad for the upcoming season, and fans will surely be excited to see how he lifts the team’s performance.

Opinion: Personally, I think this is a very smart move by Malappuram FC. Tursunov isn’t just an experienced international player — he is someone who has already proven himself in India. His ability to deliver in big games, combined with his reputation for scoring crucial goals, could very well turn Malappuram into serious contenders this season.
