Gregory, whose most recent role was with Chennaiyin FC, arrives at Malappuram FC with a distinguished pedigree. He took charge of Chennaiyin at the outset of the 2017-18 season, succeeding Italian coach Marco Materazzi. Under his stewardship, Chennaiyin clinched the ISL title in his inaugural season, triumphing over Bengaluru FC in the final.

Prior to his tenure with Chennaiyin, Gregory’s managerial career boasted stints with several esteemed English clubs, including Aston Villa, Derby County, and Portsmouth. His playing career also saw him don the England national team jersey.
