Kerala advanced to the finals of the inaugural National Beach Soccer Tournament after a thrilling 11-9 victory over Uttarakhand in the semi-final held in Gujarat. The match saw a total of 20 goals scored, with Kerala’s Jackson and Stephin leading the charge. Jackson scored five goals and was named man of the match, while Stephin scored a hat-trick. Suhail also contributed with two goals.
Despite trailing 32 minutes into the game with a score of 9-8, Kerala mounted a comeback in the last minute and a half with three goals. Jackson scored two and Stephin added one more, securing the win for Kerala. Earlier in the day, Kerala also defeated Lakshadweep in the quarter-final clash.
In the final, Kerala will face either Punjab or Delhi, who will face off in the second semi-final. This promises to be another exciting match in the inaugural National Beach Soccer Tournament.
