Kozhikode, July 9: Gokulam Kerala FC have roped in Rakshit Dagar as the goalkeeper for the upcoming season.
The 27-year-old player from Delhi debuted in I-League for United Sikkim FC. Later her joined DSK Shivajians and represented them in Durand Cup and Federation Cup.
He later went on to win the I-League with Minerva Punjab FC in the 2017-18 season. After his stint at the Punjab team, he moved to East Bengal FC, where he represented the club in 18 matches. That year East Bengal finished runners-up in the I-League.
Last season, he played for Sudeva Delhi in the I-League and started for them in 10 matches. At Sudeva, he had impressive statistics with the second-most clean sheets in the league and best shot-saving percentage. Altogether he has played 37 matches in the ILeague with 15 clean sheets.
“I believe I can add more quality to Gokulam Kerala FC. I look forward to playing in Asia. My other target will be to win the league for a second time. Though I will miss playing at the historic EMS Corporation Stadium due to the pandemic, we will try our best to defend the title,” said Rakshit Dagar.
“Rakshit is one of the best goalkeepers in the league. He has already won the ILeague trophy a few years ago. He had impressive statistics last season and we believe he could make the most of it during his tenure at Gokulam Kerala FC,” said VC Praveen, the president of Gokulam Kerala FC.
