Gokulam FC Jersey Launch

Kozhikode, October 19: Gokulam Kerala FC will unveil jersey and kit for the Hero I-League season 2018-19 in a grand function at Kozhikode Beach at 6 PM on Saturday (October 20). Renowned Malayalam music band Thaikkudam Bridge will perform and launch fan anthem during the function. The function is open to all the public.

Gokulam Kerala FC will also launch its ticket sale and fans will have the opportunity to grab season tickets and opening match tickets at the function.

This year the custom made jerseys have been derived from the Gokulam Kerala FC logo and will have distinct colors. The club has also changed its away kit. All the jerseys and kits will be unveiled in the function and the entire team will be at the function.

Fans can grab their tickets through the paytm app and website. Also, the tickets will be available at the Gokulam offices across the state. Tickets will be also sold at stadium on match days.

The pricing of the tickets are as follows

Match day tickets

  1. East stand gallery – Rs 50
  2. South stand gallery – Rs 50
  3. Weststand gallery – Rs 75
  4. North stand gallery – Rs 50
  5. VIP and VVIP – Rs 150

Season tickets

  1. East stand, south stand and north stand – Rs 300
  2. West stand gallery – Rs 500
  3. VIP and VVIP stand – Rs 700

Gokulam Kerala FC play their first home match against Mohun Bagan on October 27 th. The other home matches are as follows –

Chennai City (November 4), Shillong Lajong FC (November 11), Minerva Punjab (November 18), Churchill Brothers (November 30), Real Kashmir FC (December 15), Aizawl FC (February 10), Indian Arrows (February 16) and Neroca FC (March 3). The final home match is against East Bengal, for which the date has not been decided yet.

 

I-League 2017-18 season: Gokulam Kerala FC had a roller-coaster ride in the its debut I-League season. The club turned the tide to clinch a seventh position in the league and was applauded by pundits for the grit and nerve, it showed to beat some giant clubs in the Indian football during the last stage of the I-League.

The club defeated Kingfisher East Bengal (2-1), Shillong Lajong FC (3-2) and drew with Mohun Bagan (1-1) in their home matches. In the away matches, Gokulam defeated Mohun Bagan (2-1), champions Minerva Punjab (1-0), Chennai City (1-0) and Indian Arrows (2-0).

Under head coach Bino George, the team also had some impressive performances in the inaugural Super Cup as they defeated Indian Super League side North East United FC, 2-0, to qualify for the Super Cup. In the pre-quarterfinals of the super cup, they were leading 1-0 against Bengaluru FC until 60 minutes with a goal by their striker Henry Kisekka but Bengaluru won 2-1.

These wins earned the nickname Giant Killers FC, a play on the acronym GKFC.

About Hero I- League: Hero I-League is India’s first division football competition with a total of 11 teams competing for the national championship title. Gokulam Kerala FC is the only team participating from Kerala state in the top division. The team plays its home matches at EMS Corporation Stadium in Kozhikode.
