A late goal from Pranjal Bhumij spoiled Kerala Blasters FC’s hopes of a second win in as many matches. Kerala was leading for the majority of the game by a 24th-minute goal by Halicharan Narzary but Bhumij shocked Kochi by scoring a screamer from 35 yards. He beat a diving Dheeraj Singh to bury the goal to the top right corner in the stoppage time.
Kerala started with the same eleven which won against ATK on the opening day of the ISL. Blasters started well and saw a great chance go missing in the 4th minute. A pass from Narzari saw Seiminlen Doungel hit against Amrinder Singh. Kerala Broke the deadlock in the 24th minute with the same duo combining and Narzary went past Amrinder to give the hosts a lead. The teams were separated by this goal at the half-time.
In the second half, Kerala was more in the mood of not conceding any goal and hang on to the one-goal advantage. CK Vineeth, Courage Pekuson, and Keziron Kizito took the field for Kerala Blasters but the team couldn’t bring on any good moves to create a threat to the Mumbai Defense.
With the whole of Kaloor Jawaharlal Nehru stadium thinking that the host team will take 3 points and second win came the shocker from 18-year-old Bhumij who shattered a lot of hearts today.
