Delhi Daredevils renamed itself as Delhi Capitals, announced the Franchise on December 4. The Franchise also launched their new logo in a function for the announcement of the new changes in the team. Last year GMR group, which primarily owned the franchise entered into a 50-50 partnership with Mumbai-based steel Company Jindal South West(JSW) sports.

Last Season team finished last in the table and released 10 players from their initial team. After retaining 14 players from the previous team Delhi need to fill up ten spots(seven Indian and three overseas). They have INR. 25.5 crores in their purse, being the second most available team in the upcoming IPL Auctions which is all set to be held on December 18.
