Mumbai City FC prevailed over FC Pune City in the Maharashtra Derby. Goals in the first half sealed the fate of the game for Mumbai City FC. Modou Sougou and Rafael Bastos scored goals for the winners in an exciting contest. Both goals were scored in the first half and both the teams failed to score. Mumbai even missed a penalty in the second half. It is for the first time Mumbai City FC is defeating FC Pune City at their home.
In the 25th minute Modou Sougou opened the scoring for Mumbai and just as the first half was getting over Rafael Bastos converted a penalty and gave the hosts a two goal lead. Mumbai had a chance to increase their lead in the 91st minute but Lucian Goian missed the chance.
