Indian players suffer set back in Japan Open, Srikanth Kidambi lone indian left in the fray

Indian Badminton contingent suffered a setback in Japan Open. Except for Srikanth Kidambi all the main players in Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles and Doubles Events lost their respective matches today. PV Sindhu, HS Prannoy were among the long list of Indian failures on Day 3 of Japan Open.

HS Prannoy lost to Anthony Sinisuka Ginting of Indonesia in straight games, with the score reading 14-21, 17-21. PV Sindhu went down to Fangije Gao of china. The score read 18-21, 21-19. Srikanth Kidambi won his second round match against Wing Ki Vincent Wong in straight games 21-15, 21-14.

Men’s doubles duo Manu Attri-B Sumeeth Reddy went down fighting in a 3 game encounter against chinese pair 18-21, 21-16, 12-21. Mixed Doubles Duo of Sikki Reddy and Pranaav Jerry Chopra lost in straight sets to malaysian pair – 16-21, 16-21.
