245 runs on a 4th day pitch is not an easy target in England. India face that stiff task against hosts England who were bundled out for 271 runs in second innings. It was Mohammed Shami’s first ball strike on 4th day that set the pace of India. Later Sam Curran became the second batsmen in the innings to be out in the form of a runout after joe root. Shami secured 4 wickets in the innings.
Curran’s defiance with 46 runs has helped England to have some score to defend on the board with Moeen Ali and Aadil Rashid posing severe threat. It is the same pitch where Moeen grabbed 5 wickets in the first innings whereas Ashwin failed and settled for the lone wicket.
India needs their famed batting lineup to step-up if they want to save the series which England is leading 2-1 right now.
