India beat Windies under 3 days at Rajkot

India finished off Windies resistance under 3 days in the first test of the series at Rajkot. After declaring their innings for 649/9 India bundled out Windies twice below the score of 200. In the first innings Ashwin took four wickets after stiff resistance by Roshton Chase(53) and Keemo Paul(47) for the seventh wicket.

Once their partnership was broken Windies got all out in 48 overs for 181 runs. India enforced follow on and in the second innings it was Kuldeep Yadav’s turn to torment the Windies batting lineup. Kuldeep took his maiden five-fer in Tests to leave Windies in disarray.

After 50.5 overs Windies were all out for 196 runs with Ravindra Jadeja claiming three wickets and Ravichandran Ashwin picking two wickets. Kieran Powell top scored for the team with 83 runs.
