Ashraful eyes comeback through Afghanistan Premier League

Newly launched Afghanistan Premier league which is expected to start from October 5 in UAE is pipped as the tournament through which former Bangladesh skipper Mohammed Ashraful aims a comeback to cricket. Cricket Pundits always expressed Ashraful to be the next big thing of Bangladesh Cricket, but for his involvement in match-fixing and spot-fixing in the 2013 edition of Bangladesh Premier League, the player was slapped with a five-year bank from all forms of cricket.

As his suspension period is over, Ashraful is trying to get back to cricket and represent his country which is at present daunting task. Ashraful sees APL as his option to be back among the cricketing action and make an impact straight away. He expects to be part of some team and present before the selectors his skills and fitness levels.

”I have spoken with BCB president Nazmul Hasan and the BCB CEO and they assured me if I can perform, the door of the national team is open for me,” he added.

APL with 5 franchises will start from October 5 and go on till October 23.
