Pakistan ‘A’ bundled out New Zealand ‘A’ team in the first unofficial T20 game in Dubai. New Zealand ‘A’ team featuring some of the international players were all out for just 65 runs in 12.2 overs. Pakistan A chased down the target in 13 overs with eight wickets in hand.
New Zealand ‘A’ team captain Corey Anderson won the toss and opted to bat first. The batting collapse triggered in first over of the innings with W Maqsood dismissing Glenn Phillips in the first over.
Chapman and George Worked fell in successive balls followed by Tom Bruce in the next over with just 12 on board. Only Anderson (16 runs) and wicket-keeper batsman Seifert (26 runs) were able to cross the double digits.
Umaid Asif, the 34-year-old was the chief architect behind the damage taking five wickets in his spell. Asif gave just 20 runs in his four-over spell. Shaheen Afridi and Maqsood picked up two wickets each.
The opening partnership lasted only 3.3 overs for Pakistan ‘A’. The openers Umar Amin andĀ Farhan added 15 runs. Pakistan ‘A lost two wickets in a span of 5 balls. Umar Amin scored 20 off 21 balls and set the base for the chase of a low total. Iftikhar Ahmed and Talat’s unbeaten partnership sealed the game for them in 13 overs. Ahmed (25 off 26 balls) and Talat ( 17 off 25 balls) added 44 runs for the third wicket to take them over the line.
New ZealandA team is scheduled to play three T20s and, three ODs, and two tests in the unofficial series in Dubai. Next T20 is scheduled 15th October 2018, Monday.
