Indian Opener Murali Vijay and Washington Sundar returned to Tamil Nadu squad for Vijay Hazare Trophy. The duo replaces Hari Nishanth and Yo Mahesh in the squad. Tamilnadu have won four matches from their six league games and with 3 matches left finds themselves in a tough position to make it to the quarterfinals. Only a win in rest of the three matches will give them a chance to make it to the quarterfinals.
Vijay who was dropped from Indian team during England tour went on to play for Essex and scored 3 fifties and a century from five matches. But he was not considered for India’s Test Squad for Windies series. Washington Sundar got injured during a training session with the Indian team and was missing from action from late June. His last competitive match was on May 1, in IPL.
