Saina Nehwal made a shock exit from the 2018 Korea Open going down to Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara 21-15, 15-21, 20-22. She was 4 points away from the Semifinal spot when Nozomi made an unbelievable come back saving 4 match points and going to win the third game and match 22-20. Saina won the first game 21-15 whereas Nozomi Okuhara made a strong comeback winning second game 21-15 and taking the game to the decider.
Nozomi started the first two games strongly but in the first game Saina came back strongly by mid-game interval and went on to win the game. The second game was too easy for Nozomi as she held the lead from the start of the game and Saina could only take lead once in the game.
In the third game, Saina started strongly keeping the lead in place and not letting Nozomi make a comeback for the major portion of the third game. And things were looking comfortable for Saina with 4 match points in hand, but a valiant effort from 2017 World Champion Okuhara saw her save the match and enter the semifinals.
