The United RSC Kochi GrandSlam 2019, all Kerala veterans tennis tournament came to a scintillating end at the RSC Kadavanthra covered courts on Sunday, April 7th. The event held over the last three days saw 150 players from most of the districts facing off in tight matches from 9 am to 11 pm daily. The event was inaugurated by film star Kunchacko Boban on 5th April morning.

In the finals, in the 75+ category singles, Col. Antony Manjaly (retd) defeated Prabhakar S in straight sets (4-2, 4-1). In the same category in doubles Dr. P I George & A M Peter of Kochi defeated Col . Antony Manjaly & Mohamed Yacoob.
In 65+ category singles, George Thomas of Kottayam defeated Unni Menon of Kochi 4-2,4-2
In 65+ doubles Winner George Thomas & Jacob Kallivayalil (ktym) beat Iyyer & Raja (ekm) 4-3(7-4);3-4(4-7)
In the 55+ category singles, Bhushan Akut from Calicut defeated V K Joseph of Kochi 4-1,4-0.
In doubles segment, Jose Alappat & MK Manoj beat Cap Iyer & Timothy.

In the 35+ doubles finals, John Nechipadam & Arun Chery Jacob (ekm) beat Ram Kishore & K Shankar (ekm) 4-2;0-1(retd.).
The prizes were distributed by K Gopalan, a veteran Champion player and Neena Paul handed over Paul Kunnath rolling trophy to the Kochi district team. Jacob Kallivayalil, President Emeritus, KTA and Martin George the Tournament Director welcomed the gathering and said a vote of thanks respectively.
