Sameer Verma fought hard till the last breath, but couldn’t repeat his heroics at Denmark Open when he lost in the first round of the French Open. Last week he defeated Asian Games winner Jonatan Christie but today in the first round encounter against the same opponent Sameer went down in three games.
Sameer won the first game 21-16 but couldn’t pull up his efforts to beat the Indonesian star. Jonatan took the remaining games 21-17, 21-15 in a match which that lasted 61 minutes. Score: 21-16, 17-21, 15-21.
