Australian Bowlers restricted UAE for 117 runs and D’Arcy Short helped the team win by 7 wickets in the lone T20I between Australia and UAE that took place in Sheikh Zayed Stadium Nursery 1, Abu Dhabi. UAE won the toss and elected to bat but could only finish their innings at 117/6 in 20 overs.
UAE could go past 100 only with the help of Shaiman Anwar(41) and late blitz from Mohammad Naveed(13 ball 27). Rameez Shahzad scored 22 runs for the hosts. Nathan Coulter-Nile, Billy Stanlake took two wickets each for Australia.
Australia didn’t have a promising start as they lost skipper Aaron Finch in the second over. D’Arcy Short remained unbeaten at 68 from 53 balls and got support from Chris Lynn(20), Glenn Maxwell(18), and Ben McDermott(10*). Australia went past the target in 16.1 overs at the loss of 3 wickets. Amir Hayat took two wickets while Imran Haider got one.
