Kerala Blasters fans will have to wait for a home victory this season as the team spoilt chances of a win late in the game. After a goalless first half, CK Vineeth gave Kerala Blasters a lead in front of 29962 spectators who assembled at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi to see their home team take full points. In the 84th minute of the match Andrija Kaludjerovic saw Delhi Dynamos level the game and with only minutes left for the final whistle both teams played out the draw splitting points. Delhi Dynamos did survive a chance for Penalty late in the injury time as Pritam Kotal slides to make the clearence and there wasn’t any contact with the ball as Vineeth stumbled down.
Kerala started the game with 3 foreign players and was not upto the mark in the game in the first half. Only with Matej Poplatnik coming off from the bench Kerala played better organised. In the 48th minute CK Vineeth who started for the first time this season gave the home team a lead. This was Vineeth’s first goal of the season.
With this goal, CK Vineeth went past Ian Hume and became Kerala Blasters’ top scorer. This was Vineeth’s tenth goal for the blasters. After the goal, Delhi Dynamos attacked but wasn’t successful in breaking the Kerala Blasters Defense. Kaludjerovic scored for Delhi with a good header in the 84th minute.
