First time win for Bengaluru FC against Chennaiyin at home

Bengaluru FC started their season with a win over Chennaiyin at Bengaluru which they have failed to achieve in their previous attempts. Miku scored a first-half goal which saw the repeat of last season final but this time the fortunes favored the home team.

Miku strike was the solitary goal in the match at Kanteerava Stadium. Both teams lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Erik Paartalu came close to scoring in the third minute of the game, but, the Chennai defense was upto the mark each time.

Chennai mostly resorted to counter attacking and attacked through the flanks where Bengaluru lacked the strength. Jeje combining with Nelson created an open chance which the former sent away unbelievingly. Miku Strike in the 41st minute gave the hosts lead and the teams separated at the half-time with scores reading 1-0.

Looking for the equaliser Chennaiyin FC attacked more and had more possession but couldn’t break open the Bengaluru Defense. Even with more possession Chennaiyin FC failed to test Bengaluru FC custodian Gupreet Singh Sandhu.
