Steve Smith returns to Sydney Grade Cricket for his home club Sutherland

Steve Smith former Australian captain is preparing for his return to cricket in Australia when he plays for his home club Sutherland at Glenn McGrath Oval, New South Wales on Saturday, 22nd  September 2018 in Sydney’s grade cricket competition.
Smith serving a 12-month ban from International and domestic cricket after the infamous ball tampering incident in South Africa during their Test series tour in March this year is all set to make his first appearance in the home soil for his club Sutherland. Sutherland one of the 20-grade clubs across New South Wales is where Smith’s career began. He led the team at the age of 19 and scored 3149 runs at an average of 49.20 for Sutherland. His last appearance for the club came almost four years ago. However, he will be part of the squad for the rest of the year and possibly batting at somewhere in top three positions in this summer season. Retired Australian all-rounder Shane Watson will also be part of Saturday’s game.
Smith will be looking to make the most of this summer with some good performances for Sutherland. The players at Sutherland will also get benefitted from sharing the rich experience which he brings in.  Smith was in good form with the bat and ball in the recent Carribean Premier League and Global T20 in Canada.
With the summer cricket seasons already started, Australia’s focus will be on Saturday’s game as their former captain returns to cricketing action and Sutherland will be looking forward to the crowd turn out cheering for the star batsman at Glenn McGrath Oval.
