Sai Praneeth went down to Asian Games Champion Jonatan Christie in straight games in the round of 16. Sai was beaten by Christie who is the current Asian Games Champion. Christie earlier beat India’s Sameer Verma in the first round and now secured a 21-16, 21-14 victory against Sai Praneeth in 42 minutes.
In the men’s doubles event, Manu Attri-Sumeeth Reddy duo entered quarterfinals beating China’s Cheng Liu-Nan Zhang duo in 39 minutes. Score: 21-14, 21-16.
