Argentine Jose Pekerman resigns as Colombia manager two months after the World cup in Russia. It was confirmed by the Colombian Football Federation on Tuesday. Pekerman took Colombia to the Last 16 where they lost to Semifinalists England in the shootout.
“After a meeting with Jose Nestor Pekerman, the coach has expressed his desire not to continue as the head of the national side,” the FCF stamement said. “We at the FCF are proud to have counted on the coach, who qualified us for the World Cups in Brazil in 2014 and Russia in 2018.”
Pekerman started the colombian journey in 2012 was expected to part ways with Federation after the Worldcup. He is now could be the favorite candidate for the vacant spots of national coach at Argentina or Mexico.
